A motion capture stage, a library of real human movement and an AI tool that learns from it.
At Sheridan College’s Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT), researchers are bringing their own motion capture data into MotionMaker, the AI animation tool in Autodesk Maya. For Autodesk, we filmed the team on the mocap stage and at their workstations, including software researcher Khalil Shazam, to show how artists can shape AI around their own work instead of the other way around. Technical enough for animators, clear enough for everyone else.
